ABOUT THE INDIAN KNOWLEDGE SYSTEM (IKS) CELL

The Indian Knowledge System (IKS) Cell of Teachers Training College (B.Ed.), Aalo, serves as an institutional platform for preserving, promoting, and integrating India’s traditional wisdom, civilizational thought, and indigenous educational practices with modern teacher education. It functions in accordance with the academic frameworks of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Doimukh, and the regulatory norms of ERC–NCTE, New Delhi.

The Cell focuses on embedding Bharatiya philosophical perspectives, cultural literacy, and indigenous pedagogical models into academic processes, as envisioned in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It promotes research, dialogue, and interdisciplinary engagement revolving around traditional knowledge across domains like education, ecology, linguistics, arts, health, ethics, and architecture.

The IKS Cell organizes academic events, documentation drives, faculty development programmes, and collaborative initiatives with national IKS agencies. It ensures proper governance, research integrity, and curriculum integration of indigenous knowledge subjects within the teacher education structure.

Through its sustained academic contributions, the Cell aims to cultivate a holistic educational ecosystem that harmonizes India’s timeless wisdom traditions with contemporary academic needs.
