ABOUT THE WOMEN DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

The Women Development Committee of Teachers Training College (B.Ed.), Aalo, functions as a statutory body constituted under the gender sensitization and equality guidelines of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Doimukh, and the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi. It serves as an institutional platform committed to the welfare, empowerment, and safety of women stakeholders across the college.

The Committee is responsible for enforcing gender equity, preventing discrimination, and promoting women’s participation in curricular, co-curricular, and administrative activities. It conducts awareness programmes, sensitization workshops, and empowerment initiatives covering legal literacy, professional development, health awareness, and psychological well-being.

The Committee ensures adherence to the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, maintaining confidentiality, due process, and institutional accountability. It frequently collaborates with external agencies, government departments, and civil society organizations to augment its capacity-building and outreach initiatives.
